Q: What is Broadband internet?
A: Broadband internet is the same World Wide Web that everyone shares and connects to via their computer or another Internet communication device. The difference between Broadband and other services such as dial up or satellite is the speed. Broadband is the classification for very fast download and upload speeds. In other words, very fast internet.

Q: What is MBPS (Megabytes per second)?
A: MBPS is the rate of speed in which you receive data.

Q: What is MB (Megabit)?
A: MB is a unit of measurement that defines a capacity or space.

Q: What is the difference between the service tiers?
A: The difference between the service tiers is the MBPS, which is the speed up/down that you receive your data at. TDV recommends the more usage or devices in your home the higher the service tier.

Q: What is the Monthly usage allowance?
A: There is no Monthly usage allowance your service is unlimited.

Q: How much does TDVNet cost?
A: Our subscription service starts as low as $34.95 a month for a 2 mbps connection. Speed plans currently offered are:

  • $34.95 for 2 mbps.
  • $64.95 for 3 mbps.
  • Business tiers are also available

Q: Is there a charge for installation?
A: There is a Flat Rate Fee of $100.00 for a General Installation with a 1-year service agreement. This price includes labor and equipment fees.
Charges may be applied to Drop or Complex Installations. Drop or Complex Installations are performed on customers’ request.

Q: What is the difference between a General Installation and Drop or Complex Installation?
A:

  • A General Installation is performed with no charge, equipment will be installed on the roof of your home and in a designated area in your home, a TDV Tech will drill a hole to connect the outside cable line to the device placed in your home, the hole will be filled and your service will be connected.
  • A Drop Installation is performed on request of the customer; there is a flat fee of $100.00 for this installation. The equipment will be placed in the same areas but the techniques in which the line is connected will be different, a TDV Tech will run the line down through the walls of your home to conceal the cable.
  • A Complex Installation is performed on request of the customer; there is a flat fee of $100.00 for this installation. The equipment will be placed in the same areas but the techniques in which the line is connected will be different, a TDV Tech will run the line through the attic or crawl space and then down the walls to conceal the cables.

Q: Can I subscribe to TDVNet?
A: Tribal Digital Village currently relies on technology that requires a line of sight from your house to one of our towers that deploys internet to our subscribers. Tribal Digital Village is always at the forefront of testing and acquiring new technology to better serve our subscribers and future clientele. Our goal is to give access to ALL residents in the reservations and rural areas of San Diego otherwise unserved by bigger companies. For information about subscribing call 760-742-0582 ext. 134.
